Comprehensive Eye Exams

Eye exams offer more than an accurate prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. Exams are essential for maintaining your vision and eye health, as problems can be detected, prevented, and treated early with regular visits to the eye doctor. Our exams screen for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and other eye conditions. Children and adults should have regular eye exams to detect problems and allow for prompt eye treatment, should a problem arise.

Some people love the look of designer eyeglass frames, while others find contact lenses more comfortable and convenient. We offer contact lens exams to ensure a proper fit and prevent vision loss due to infection or injury. We carefully select the latest and most effective technology to provide a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for our patients wearing contact lenses.

Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetes is a serious health condition that causes a range of health problems and is the leading cause of preventable vision loss. Diabetic patients may develop bleeding in the back of the eyes, which is known as diabetic retinopathy. This condition can lead to blindness, if not detected early. Dr. Anklin examines the retina for changes, which enables early eye treatment. Yearly exams are recommended particularly for diabetic patients.

Urgent Eye Care

Certain eye problems, such as eye infections, ocular trauma, chemical injuries, foreign bodies, flashes, floaters, or sudden vision loss, require immediate attention. We treat conditions that include cataracts, dry eyes, diabetic retinopathy, conjunctivitis, ocular trauma, glaucoma blepharitis, flashing lights and floaters, and macular degeneration.

Surgical Treatments

Surgical treatment is sometimes required to treat advanced eye conditions, to restore ocular health and vision. Surgery is commonly used to treat glaucoma, cataracts, and other conditions. Dr. Anklin recommends surgery only when less invasive treatments are not effective, such as medicated drops, medications, or visual aids. Dr. Anklin is residency trained to co-manage patients requiring surgery and laser vision correction procedures.
